At The Myton Hospices, we provide specialist care and support for people with life-limiting illnesses, and their loved ones, from the point of diagnosis to end of life. We are a much-loved and well supported charity, at the heart of our community. We have three hospices, a range of community services, and 26 charity shops in Coventry and Warwickshire.
Our Nursing Assistants:
* Support Registered Nurses to deliver holistic nursing care
* Communicate sensitively with patients, families and caregivers
* Assess and respond to patients’ needs
* Maintain patient records
* Assist patients with personal and emotional care
* Deal with bereavement issues in a sensitive and compassionate manner
Your work will involve visiting patients’ homes in the Warwickshire area. You will have a main base at our Warwick hospice but will sometimes need to work at our Rugby Hub.
We have more than one position available and we may be able to offer you either a part-time or full‑time contract, depending on your availability and preference.
We would love to hear from you if you have:
* Experience of caring for patients with life-limiting/life‑threatening conditions
* Understanding of safeguarding
* Compassion
* Communication skills
* NVQ level 3 (or equivalent), or willingness to work towards this
* UK driving licence and own vehicle (roadworthy & suitably insured)
* The right to work in the UK (we cannot support with sponsorship)
Other roles you might have experience of could include: Healthcare Assistant; Health Care Assistant; HCA; Support Worker; Carer.
If you’re offered the role, you will need an enhanced DBS check, including the children’s and adult’s barred list because you will be working in regulated activity with patients and their families. We will arrange and cover the cost of this check.
