Description
We are looking to recruit a new Marketing Executive into our team to support with the execution of marketing plans for the SIMS brand, helping us meet and exceed business objectives, commercial targets and retention goals. You’ll also be helping support the successful adoption of SIMS Next Gen, our exciting new cloud-based product. This role reports into a Marketing Manager.
Working closely with the wider marketing team, you will use your knowledge of our customers and the EdTech market to help develop tactical marketing activity which hits the right people, at the right time with targeted messages to support our business goals.
This is a broad marketing role involving the planning, delivery and reporting of multi-channel marketing campaigns. The successful candidate will have the ability to multi-task and switch priorities according to the needs of the business. Attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication skills, a positive attitude, good organisational skills and an appetite to take on a challenge are a must.
This role is hybrid, with an expectation of 2 days in our Bedford office and occasional requirement to travel to other offices.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain and leverage a deep understanding of the education industry.
* Develop an impeccable insight of competitor activity, size, products, positioning and pricing.
* Support in briefing and planning multi-channel marketing activity with our shared services team, maximising budget and delivering ROI
* Work with our in-house design team to develop effective campaign briefs, ensuring delivery of high quality campaigns which support our marketing objectives
* Understand and capitalise upon the market positioning SIMS possesses, and leverage key relationships to support in the creation of effective marketing campaign activity.
* Support the Marketing team to successfully onboard customers to our new cloud products through well-crafted email automation flows and other digital channels
* Support the Marketing team to create campaigns which deliver lead generation opportunities.
* Support the Marketing team with event planning and preparation.
* With support from the Marketing Manager, deliver relevant aspects of the SIMS marketing plan, ensuring all activity aligns with the ethos and goals of the brand and opportunities are maximised to meet company objectives and strategy.
* Adhere to processes to ensure all communications and data management are compliant with the latest legislation (GDPR, W3C, PECR) and company policy.
* Measure and analyse return/success from activities, provide monthly reports to Head of Marketing and continually optimize to maximize the effectiveness of all SIMS marketing activity, resources, and budgets.
* Analyse and develop potential strategic partner relationships, building key relationships to maximise value.
* Take the lead on maintaining effective internal communication to ensure that all relevant departmental areas are kept informed.
* Develop a good working knowledge of SIMS (full training will be given).
* Support any additional tasks assigned by the Marketing Manager or Head of Marketing.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Degree educated, ideally Marketing but Business Studies or related would be considered.
Chartered Institute of Marketing Certificate is desirable
Experience in Marketing, specifically digital channels and education sector experience is preferred
Working knowledge of basic HTML and CMS
Good understanding of email marketing platforms and social media platforms
Good understanding of email automation and journey building
Ability to write clear and concise briefs
Confident and articulate communicator
Capable of building strong relationships and collaboration with key stakeholders
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent attention to detail
Excellent analytical skills
Organised and process driven
Able to multi-task and meet deadlines
Able to write engaging copy and proofread effectively
Creative approach to problem solving and ability to use own initiative to develop new ideas and ways to deliver greater efficiencies
Positive, ‘can do’ approach
Driving licence preferable and flexibility to travel if necessary. Occasional overnight travel may be required
