Design Manager – Building Envelope SolutionsBox Recruitment Solutions are exclusively recruiting for a growing Building Envelope Solutions division seeking an experienced and commercially focused Design Manager to lead and develop their technical design function.This is an excellent opportunity for a driven individual with extensive experience in façade, roofing, cladding, curtain walling and glazing systems design management to play a pivotal role within a growing business. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the full design lifecycle, building and growing your own team of Designers, and acting as the technical focal point across the business.Reporting directly to the Operations Director, you will lead conceptual and detailed design activities across a range of specialist building envelope projects. The role combines technical leadership, team management, commercial awareness and client-facing responsibilities.Lead and manage the design function across multiple building envelope projectsDevelop technical solutions that are practical, compliant and commercially efficientManage projects from feasibility through to completion, ensuring programmes and deliverables are achievedBuild, manage and mentor an internal design team while coordinating external design resources where requiredLead the design and coordination of: Facades, Curtain walling, Cladding systems, Roofing systems & Glazing solutionsImplement and manage robust quality control procedures for drawings, specifications and technical releasesCoordinate technical submissions including calculations, specifications, datasheets and compliance documentationManage RFIs, design programmes and design deliverable schedulesLiaise closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and internal departmentsSupport pre-construction and tender activities with technical input and presentationsEnsure compliance with current regulations including BSA / BSR requirements where applicableDrive continuous improvement initiatives across the design departmentAttend design coordination and progress meetingsSupport procurement, fabrication and installation teams throughout project deliveryEssential ExperienceIdeally 10 years' experience within roofing, cladding or building envelope designStrong technical knowledge of curtain walling, facades, glazing and cladding systemsProven experience managing design processes on construction projectsStrong leadership and team management capabilityExcellent AutoCAD skillsStrong understanding of technical detailing, fabrication and installation processesExcellent communication and organisational skillsCommercially aware with the ability to maximise project efficiencies and profitabilityDesirableDegree qualified in Architecture, Engineering or Construction-related disciplineHND/HNC in Construction or related subjectRevit experienceExperience working within specialist subcontracting environmentsKnowledge of BIM processes and design coordinationWhat's on offer:Competitive salaryPerformance-related bonus structureVehicle or vehicle allowanceCareer progression opportunitiesGrowing and supportive business environment Top of FormTPBN1_UKTJ
