Job summary
The Operational Finance and Contracting team is looking to strengthen its existing team and requires a Head of Contracting. The post holder will take the lead responsibility for negotiating, managing, and monitoring the performance of healthcare-related contracts and SLAs for services including mental health, learning disabilities, childrens community services, and specialist healthcare services provided to commissioners.
We offer hybrid working, enabling flexible work from our offices and home, with the necessary IT equipment provided. You should have a suitable home environment and be available to attend the office as required.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will monitor service quality and performance, ensuring compliance with national and local contract terms, quality standards, and performance targets, while promoting continuous improvement.

Job description
The post holder should have management/supervision experience, substantial NHS experience, and proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Access. The role requires organizational skills, assertiveness, negotiation abilities for contracting and performance issues, and experience developing relationships with external agencies. A team player with a focus on quality and performance is essential.
The candidate should have a management or health/social care qualification at degree level or higher, with evidence of ongoing professional development. Experience in staff management, data analysis, and cross-organizational collaboration within health and social care is also required. The role involves prioritizing complex tasks, working across organizational boundaries, and traveling between sites as needed.
