Systems Modelling Engineer Radar / Seeker (MATLAB & Simulink) Defence | Missile Systems | Model-Based Design
Youll work on MATLAB/Simulink models of an RF radar seeker, supporting the development and performance prediction of advanced guided missile systems.
The work spans seeker hardware behaviour, digital signal processing, target environments, and the integration of these models into a wider missile dynamics reference model. This is hands-on, technically deep modelling work supporting real product outcomes.
Due to the sensitivity of the work, this role is predominantly onsite, with some project-dependent flexibility.
What youll be doing (core responsibilities) Developing complex models in MATLAB and Simulink using model-based design techniques
Modelling key elements of the seeker system, including:
Target scenarios
Seeker hardware behaviour
Digital processor algorithms
Developing and implementing algorithms within the model
Generating and verifying auto-code from Simulink models
Carrying out seeker performance assessment and prediction
Producing simplified representations for use within missile dynamic models
Additional / supporting activities Upgrading and maintaining legacy seeker models
Producing technical documentation and test vectors
Supporting model delivery and integration activities within a multi-disciplinary team
Skills & experience were looking for Essential Strong experience using MATLAB and Simulink
Model-based design and modelling for auto-coding
Ability to translate algorithms into structured Simulink implementations
Technical documentation or report writing experience
Desirable (not all required) Radar, RF, control systems or digital signal processing experience
Exposure to seeker, sensor, or defence/aerospace modelling environments
Understanding of C / generated code from models
