OAL is a large, award winning faculty of Abingdon and Witney College. We aim to maximise access to learning for adults in Oxfordshire, widening participation and transforming the health, social and economic wellbeing of individuals, families and their communities.
We offer a wide range of courses including GCSE and Functional Skills in English and Maths, ESOL, Community Learning, and leisure learning courses at a variety of venues throughout Oxfordshire.
Responsibilities:
* Inspire and educate learners around the theoretical knowledge and practical aspects of gardening.
* Foster a love for nature and sustainable practices.
* Design an engaging curriculum covering various aspects of gardening, including plant biology, landscaping, sustainable practices, and horticulture.
* Engage and connect with learners with diverse needs and backgrounds in the community.
Although a teaching qualification is an advantage, training opportunities exist within the College and we can support you in gaining your Award in Education and Training Level 3 Qualification (AET), within your first year of joining the college.
This role may be eligible for the 'Taking Teaching Further (TTF)' programme, which supports professionals as they move into teaching in the further education sector. Support from the TTF programme can include an initial reduction in teaching workload and enrolment onto teacher training.
