The post-holder will deliver and contribute to the development of the maternal medicine service, working both as an autonomous practitioner and team member, delivering high quality, expert nursing care.
Main duties of the job

Participate in joint specialist maternal medicine clinics, providing key nursing input. Supporting the other members of the clinical team and ensuring the team are workingtoagreedguidelinesandprotocolswithinaclinicalgovernanceframework.
Assisting in the acceptance ofreferrals to the Maternal Medicine Portal. Including: determining theirappropriatenessand assisting in the prioritization of referrals accordingtoclinicalneed .
Providing a nursing outreach role in both the inpatient and outpatient clinical settings. This will include assistance in carryingoutspecificinvestigations,treatmentsandinterventionswithoutdirect supervision including:
investigations(e.g bloods, blood cultures, ECG, ABG)
management of peripheral and central lines
administration of medications (e.g immunoglobulin infusions)
Assisting in the management of the acutely unwell patient including the provision of enhanced nursing care
Providing outreach support to pregnant women admitted to our acute gynaecology ward and across Liverpool Adult Acute and Specialist Providers (LAASP) comprising Aintree, Royal, Liverpool, Liverpool Hearth and Chest/Broadgreen, Walton Centre and Clatterbridge Cancer Centre as part of the maternal medicine team.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
Registered Nurse (with current registration)
First level degree (or equivalence through experience).
Evidence of continual professional development
Desirable criteria
Master Degree (or equivalence through extensive experience in specialist field)
Specific qualification in maternal medicine

Significant post registration experience in maternal medicine or looking after women with complex medical conditions
