Senior Accommodation Support Worker
Position available: 1 full‑time slot (37.5 hours) based in the Black Country.
Salary: £27,751.50 – £31,525. Closing date: 21st November 2025.
All interviews will be held via Microsoft Teams.

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Accommodation Support worker with excellent communication skills, compassion, and an understanding of the impact of abuse and exploitation. An innovative candidate with experience working with adults who have experienced trauma and abuse is ideal. This role offers a great opportunity for someone who enjoys problem‑solving and developing leadership skills.
The Role
* Provide day‑to‑day support to the Refuge Manager and/or Safe House Manager.
* Manage and oversee the quality of support delivered to residents and their children.
* Supervise intervention support workers, each with a nominated caseload.
* Ensure the environment is empathetic, supportive and positive, promoting independence and life after violence and abuse.
* Meet all contractual targets from contracts and commissions.
Responsibilities
* Deliver support to residents and children in a caring and supportive manner.
* Coordinate with intervention support workers to maintain quality service.
* Observe and report any issues relevant to safeguarding and abuse prevention.
* Ensure compliance with organisational policies and statutory requirements.
* Provide leadership and guidance to junior staff.
Qualifications & Experience
* Experience working with adults who have experienced trauma and abuse.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong problem‑solving abilities and desire to develop leadership skills.
* Demonstrated ability to work in a supportive and empathetic environment.
Requirements
* Occupational Requirement under Schedule 9 (Part 1) of the Equality Act 2010 – post holder must be female.
* Right to work in the UK and valid documentation for immigration status.
* Clear enhanced disclosure to the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) at the relevant level.
* Positive references from current or most recent employer, or suitable alternative references if no employer reference is available (e.g., teacher, health visitor, character reference, civil servant, bank manager).
