Job Details

A well‑established firm in Stockport is looking to appoint an experienced Legal Cashier to join its friendly and supportive Finance department. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with at least two years' experience in a legal finance environment who is looking to take the next step in their career.


Working as part of a collaborative team, you'll play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of day‑to‑day financial processes and maintaining compliance with all regulatory standards.
Your New Role

1. Processing daily client and office account transactions
2. Posting payments, receipts, transfers, and write‑offs
3. Monitoring client account activity and ensuring balances are accurate
4. Managing petty cash, firm credit card expenditure and staff expenses
5. Handling purchase invoices and supplier payments
6. Producing monthly management information, including fee earner and departmental performance reports
7. Supporting the Head of Finance with the preparation of management accounts
8. Assisting with cost and revenue analysis across the business
9. Supporting internal and external audit processes
10. Supplying financial data and documentation as required
11. Maintaining accurate financial information within the practice management system
12. Contributing to improvements that enhance financial workflows
13. Offering guidance and training to colleagues on finance procedures where needed

What You'll Need to Succeed

14. Previous experience working as a Legal Cashier within a law firm is preferable.
15. Experience producing and interpreting management reports
16. Confident IT skills, especially Microsoft Excel
17. Familiarity with legal finance systems
18. Excellent accuracy, organisation and communication skills
19. A proactive approach and strong attention to detail
