We are looking for x1 experienced Driver Labourers – Waste to work in our Employment and Logistics team. Southampton is a city of opportunity. About You: You will be part of the busy Employment and Logistics team within our Housing Operations Service that carry out asbestos collections, forklift duties, and ad hoc duties within the depot that are required. The role will cover the city boundaries and over 18,000 council owned properties throughout our estates. Your duties will include; Delivering materials, plant and equipment Segregating trade waste for recycling Asbestos collections and fly-tipped asbestos collections Other labouring duties Duties within Nursling depot Full use of IT and telecommunication equipment Experience and knowledge in this field is a must. You will need a full clean driving licence in order to drive our vehicles and will also be required to undergo a DBS check as part of the pre-employment checks. An ADR and Forklift license is required, however training can be provided for the successful candidate. As the work is varied a flexible approach is required to meet changing needs and tight deadlines. Excellent customer service skills, enthusiasm, and a ‘can do’ attitude is all essential as you’ll be our ambassador when you visit our customers’ homes to deliver materials and assist in carrying out repairs and installations to the highest of standards. You will liaise with residents, peers and colleagues on a daily basis so communication and customer focus will be essential to the role. Organisational, customer service, time management and physical skills are key to this role.
