Affinity Workforce Solutions are working with a number of schools in the Weston-Super-Mare area who are looking for SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) learning support assistants. We are seeking a candidate with expertise in SEMH and/or Communication and Interaction to join one of our partner schools. The role involves providing in-class support, delivering focused one-to-one and small group interventions, offering emotional and social guidance, and fostering a secure, supportive, and encouraging learning atmosphere. This position is integral to the SEND provision within the classroom, assisting pupils with diverse needs such as Autism, SEMH, ADHD, and Speech, Language, and Communication challenges. The successful applicant: Have a sound understanding of Secondary Education Confident supporting the KS3 and KS4 curriculum Have experience of supporting children in all aspects of the curriculum Will be a team player, as well as using their initiative and good sense of humour Have excellent literacy, Numeracy, and communication skills. Have experience of working with children with a range of additional needs including Autism, Speech and language difficulties both in smalls groups and 1:1. Have a positive approach and be flexible to the demands of the job.
