About the Role:
In this role, you will play a key part in delivering exceptional Maths and Computing education at Downsend School. You will work closely with the Heads of Maths and Computing to provide high‑quality teaching across your classes, ensuring pupils are inspired, challenged, and supported to make strong progress. You will help shape a positive and forward‑thinking departmental culture, contribute to enrichment activities such as coding clubs and numeracy challenges, and engage actively in professional development. You will also collaborate with colleagues across departments and school sites, supporting continuity, progression, and our wider STEAM initiative. Whether you are planning engaging lessons, developing resources, or contributing to the school’s digital learning platforms, you will help create a dynamic and stimulating environment where pupils thrive.
This is a permanent, full-time role.

You are an enthusiastic, committed teacher who brings energy, creativity, and expertise to the classroom. You have strong subject knowledge in Maths and Computing, excellent communication and organisational skills, and the ability to inspire confidence in pupils, parents, and colleagues. You enjoy working collaboratively, contribute positively to team culture, and remain calm and effective under pressure. You are committed to continuous professional development, open to new ideas, and eager to support co‑curricular activities. You ensure pupils are appropriately challenged, motivated, and supported to achieve their best, and you bring a proactive, professional approach to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.
