The Junior Account Executive (JAE) will provide critical support across a variety of PR and marketing activities including administration, media relations, coverage monitoring and reporting, writing and research. This is an entry-level role suited to a proactive, organized individual with a strong desire to learn and grow in a fast-paced agency environment. Curiosity, attention to detail, and a willingness to take initiative are essential qualities.
JAEs are expected to start developing a solid understanding of media relations, media landscapes and client service while building confidence in contributing ideas and delivering against deadlines. As part of the HUNTER team, JAEs play an important supporting role in campaign execution, account coordination, and media engagement.
Responsibilities:
Media Relations & Research
* Supports on media relations, including developing an understanding of media landscapes, key sector publications, and relevant journalists.
* Assists in building and maintaining media lists for vertical trade, national, consumer and corporate media titles.
* Conducts background research into industry trends, regulatory developments, and competitor activity to help inform client recommendations.
* Assists with preparation of briefing documents and Q&As for client spokespeople ahead of interviews, media opportunities, or panel appearances.
* Tracks thought leadership opportunities (e.g., op-ed placements, speaker slots) and maintains relevant calendars for clients.
* Monitors and logs media coverage with a focus on sentiment, message pull-through, and alignment with business priorities.
Campaign Support
* Participates in internal brainstorms to generate creative campaign ideas, supporting on concept development and rationale.
* Supports drafting of new business decks and case studies focused on success stories.
* Begins to understand reputation management and corporate communications principles, including messaging, tone of voice, and stakeholder engagement.
* Demonstrates keen attention to detail in campaign execution, such as monitoring coverage and presenting results.
Account Coordination
* Alongside Account Executives, ensures account management documents are updated daily and accurately.
* Manages admin tasks such as meeting logistics, mail merges, note taking, document filing, and event prep.
* May be asked to support pitch logistics, such as ordering props or materials and setting up presentation environments.
