We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to help deliver our regulatory responsibilities as the Enforcement Authority for the Reservoirs Act 1975 in England. The Reservoirs Act helps to ensure the safe operation and management of dams.
Overview
Role: Compliance and Monitoring officer, part of the Reservoir Regulation team within the Environmental Assessment and Reservoir Regulation department of the Flood & Coastal Risk Management (FCRM) Directorate. The team regulates the more than 2,140 large raised reservoirs in England. The role is a part-time job share (22.2 hours per week) with some national travel and overnight stays required. This is a national role and you can be based at any Environment Agency office.
Responsibilities
* Monitor compliance with the Reservoirs Act 1975 for the 2,140 reservoirs in England.
* Manage day-to-day correspondence and record incoming documentation on our database to ensure records are accurate and up to date.
* Encourage compliance when reports or certificates are not received as expected.
* Be the first point of contact for reservoir owners and panel engineers.
* Provide information and advice on the requirements of the Act.
