An exciting opportunity has opened in the Emergency Department at Ealing hospital, for a Band 6 Senior RMN post. You will be joining an innovative and vibrant Emergency and Ambulatory Service within the Trust. You’ll help to shape service developments that raise the bar even higher and assist in delivering quality care to patients requiring mental health support.

You will have extremely good people skills and the ability to take services forward as you will be working closely with the nurse in charge to ensure that all mental health patients have the right level of support while in the emergency department. You will also be working closely with the RMNs, HCAs and security allocated as 1:1s to ensure they are giving the correct support to our mental health patients and ensuring all documentations are updated and completed.

Responsibilities
* Lead and contribute to service developments to deliver improved patient care and organizational efficiencies.
* Collaborate with the nurse in charge to ensure appropriate support for mental health patients in the emergency department.
* Work closely with RMNs, HCAs and security on 1:1s to provide correct support and ensure documentation is updated and completed.
* Ensure RMNs and HCAs undertaking 1:1s perform at their optimum level and that the team delivers a responsive, high quality and patient-friendly service.
* Participate in care planning for patients on one-to-one observations and ensure staff work in accordance with Trust policies.
Supervision and Collaboration
The post holder will be employed by London North West Healthcare University NHS Trust (LNWHUT) and will be accountable to LNWHUT. Supervision will be in partnership with LNWH and CNWL. They will assist in day-to-day advice and guidance on the care of patients requiring one-to-one and mental health needs within the Emergency Department at Ealing Hospital. The post holder will ensure that the RMNs and HCAs undertaking 1:1s are performing at their optimum level and that the team is delivering a responsive, high quality and patient-friendly service.
Links with Specialist Teams
The post holder will work very closely with the Liaison Psychiatry team at Ealing Hospital, the Enhanced Observation team and the Nurse in Charge of the Emergency Department to ensure that patients on one-to-one are reviewed and that they still require the current level of observation. They will participate in the care planning for patients on one-to-one observations and ensure RMNs and HCAs are working in accordance with Trust policies.
