Financial Reporting Associate

The Financial Reporting Associate will join the External Reporting team and produce European statistical reporting in accordance with IFRS and regulatory requirements. This associate level role supports the team’s production cycle and contributes to projects aimed at enhancing regulatory compliance, process efficiencies, and digital tooling.
What you will be doing
- Preparing regulatory balance‑sheet‑based external reporting
- Developing commentary and analysis to support disclosures
- Managing the production process and ensuring delivery against production timetables
- Troubleshooting data issues during quarterly production and escalating to local line management
- Responding to review questions on disclosures
- Presenting disclosures and analytics to Finance Senior Management
- Maintaining an understanding of disclosure requirements and Morgan Stanley policies
- Documenting procedures and ensuring the presence of key controls
What we're looking for
- Experience in financial and regulatory reporting
- Experience working with large datasets
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate and escalate effectively and timely
- Risk awareness and appreciation of escalation processes
- Ability to challenge issues and processes
- Self‑motivated with initiative and problem‑solving abilities
- Strong work ethic and the ability to meet deadlines
- Capacity to work autonomously
- Ability to balance and prioritise multiple issues effectively
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- At least 3 years of relevant experience
Skills that will help you in the role
- Digital tooling knowledge (Alteryx, PowerBI)
- Financial services and/or product knowledge
- Balance sheet controller reporting experience
- CA/ACA/ACCA qualification
