We're recruiting an Activity Co‑ordinator to join our dedicated team at Flowers House, Milton Keynes City Council's supported housing scheme for older people living with dementia. Flowers House has 34 self‑contained flats and provides 24-hour CQC‑registered domiciliary care on site. You will be part of a close‑knit, supportive team that helps residents live as independently as possible in a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment.
Responsibilities
* Provide a varied and stimulating programme of activities, involving tenants in the choice, planning and delivery of group and one‑to‑one activities.
* Build and maintain links with internal and external partners to support shared use of facilities, resources and community opportunities.
* Ensure clear and accurate records are kept of activities delivered and maintain a well‑organised database of resources.
* Provide day‑to‑day care and support in line with individual care plans, including personal care, medication and daily living tasks where required.
* Promote independence, dignity and choice at all times, encouraging social inclusion and participation within Flowers House.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver consistent, high‑quality, person‑centred care and support.
* Respond appropriately to changing needs to help prevent hospital admissions.
* Deliver activities Monday to Friday, with flexible hours available between 10:00 and 17:00.
* Attend the site at Flowers House for all scheduled hours.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Experience in care or support work, or a willingness to learn.
* A good understanding of dignity, respect, and person‑centred care.
* The ability to work as part of a team in a supported housing environment.
* Good communication skills and a calm approach in challenging situations.
* A commitment to promoting independence and social inclusion.
* Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle.
* Availability for flexibility between 10:00 and 17:00, Monday to Friday.
