Job Duties
The AV Instructional Technology Manager oversees the operation, design, and strategic development of audiovisual systems across instructional classrooms, event spaces, and Board of Visitors (BOV) meeting environments. This role ensures high-quality AV service delivery, manages vendor relationships, and collaborates with the ITS Business Manager to maintain budget compliance and service procurement. The manager leads a team of AV technicians and is responsible for maintaining a 95% uptime SLA across all instructional spaces.
JOB DUTIES:
• Delivering reliable AV infrastructure for teaching and learning.
• Designing AV systems for new academic buildings aligned with instructional best practices.
• Managing AV vendor contracts and service hours for break-fix support.
• Collaborating with ITS leadership to ensure strategic procurement and budget alignment.
• Providing performance metrics that support SLA adherence and continuous improvement.
• Delivering reliable AV guidance for event spaces and conference rooms
Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Expertise in AV Systems, instructional Technology, and event support.
• Strong vendor negotiation and contract management skills.
• Ability to lead and develop technical staff.
• Familiarity with higher education learning environments.
• Data – drive mindset with experience in SLA tracking, metrics and KPI deliverables and reports.
Additional Considerations
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree in information technology, AV Engineering, or related field
• Certifications in AV technologies (e.g., CTs, Crestron, Extron) preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in AV operations, preferably in higher education.
• Experience managing AV teams and vendors
