Job overview
A number of exciting opportunities have arisen for full time (minimum 30 hours) Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioners (apprentices) to join team DBTH in ACU.
To be part of our team, successful candidates will be an experienced nurse or allied health professional, have excellent leadership and clinical skills, as well as evidence of continuing professional development, have drive, ambition, passion, a flexible approach and be dedicated to working in a fast paced, challenging but exciting environment in a well-established and supportive MDT. (minimum of 3 years post registration clinical experience- NMC/HCPC)
Successful post holders will undertake the MSc Advanced Clinical Practice masters degree programme (level 7 apprenticeship)) run in conjunction with Sheffield Hallam University and candidates must be committed to completing both the academic, clinical and leadership requirements of the programme. You will be required to fulfil the full apprenticeship and commit to three years of study.
Main duties of the job
The trainee ACP will work within a defined scope of practice and to agreed clinical standards applied within a Trust wide and local setting.
The role will be multifactorial and include prescribing and advanced clinical assessment of all systems, diagnostic skills and understanding of investigations. The role will improve the quality of and access to health care provision and strengthen professional leadership.
As a trainee ACP, you will provide high quality clinical care for patients presenting with a variety of conditions, providing a comprehensive clinical assessment, requesting and interpreting investigations, decision making, provision of treatment, prescribing, evaluation of care and referral to other healthcare professionals if required.
Whilst working autonomously the trainee ACP will always work within a multi professional team led by a Consultant.

Qualifications & Training
* Registered professional or healthcare practitioner
* Teaching and assessing qualification
* Level 6 1st level degree. Willing to work towards a recognised advanced practice qualification at level 7 including advanced physical assessment and consultation skills, non-medical prescribing, chest radiography image interpretation, acute and emergency care, specific and core competencies
* IT literate
* ALS provider/instructor
* Advanced Clinical Practitioner Training programme/ modules
* Evidence of mandatory training updates
Experience
* Extensive post registration experience, a considerable amount of which must be as a fully qualified professional within an acute or unscheduled care setting
* Evidence of management skills gained through theory and or practice
* Experience of mentoring and developing staff
* Broad post registration clinical experience.
* Complex reasoning, critical thinking, reflection and analysis to inform assessments, clinical judgements and decisions.
* Ability to work autonomously and within a team
* Demonstrate implemented research into practice
* Minimum of 3 years post registration (NMC or HCPC) clinical experience
* Evidence of research or audit experience
