We are seeking
to recruit a Clinical Research Fellow in Biomedical Ultrasound for Wound Therapy to join a multidisciplinary team of engineers, clinicians and microbiologists developing novel therapies for treating bacterial infections using ultrasound. You will be based at Stoke Mandeville Hospital and the University of Oxford and report to the Principal Investigator for the project, Prof Fadi Issa, and also receive expert guidance from Profs. Eleanor Stride and Dario Carugo at the Botnar Research Centre on the technical aspects of the project. As a Clinical Research Fellow, you will act as the Key Local Investigator on the study, provide support for Prof Fadi Issa including attending multidisciplinary meetings and clinics as appropriate, maintaining accurate participant’s records and ensuring all relevant information is documented in the medical notes and source data files. You will be responsible for the counselling and consent of potential patients in Study ensuring potential participants have received the appropriate oral and written information about the research project and confirming their suitability.You must be a qualified doctor with a GMC Licence to Practise in the UK. Clinical skills at the level of a core trainee or above in plastic surgery/burns, as well as experience in supporting clinical studies are essential. Previous experience in the design and/or implementation of clinical studies (including protocol development, data collection and processing) and experience of using ultrasound equipment (diagnostic or therapeutic), is desirable. This is a part-time fixed-term appointment for 24 months in the first instance.
