Graduate Human Factors Consultant – Nottingham, UK
As a Graduate Human Factors Consultant, you will support the delivery of Human Factors and ergonomics assessments across complex systems and infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the delivery of Human Factors and ergonomics assessments across complex systems and infrastructure projects.
* Contribute to project activities including:
o Task and workload analysis
o Human error identification and mitigation
o User needs analysis
o Safety and risk assessment
o Human–system interface evaluation
* Collect and analyse qualitative and quantitative Human Factors data through methods such as observations, interviews, workshops, and document reviews.
* Assist in preparing technical reports, client presentations, and project documentation, ensuring outputs are clear and evidence‑based.
* Work collaboratively with engineers, designers, and other specialists within multidisciplinary project teams.
* Develop consulting and technical skills through mentoring, structured training, and on‑the‑job learning as part of AECOM’s graduate development programme.
Qualifications
* A BSc or MSc in Human Factors, Ergonomics, or a closely related Human Factors discipline.
* A Human Factors qualification (or equivalent academic specialisation) is required.
* A strong interest in Human Factors and human‑centred design, with the motivation to build a career in this field.
* Strong analytical thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
* Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills, with confidence to engage with clients and stakeholders.
* The ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
* Some projects may require eligibility for security clearance, particularly for defence‑related work.
