You will need to be creative as well as resilient with a significant sense of fun. Play is an important part of the therapeutic approach. Your role is to facilitate access to learning for SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disability) pupils across the school. You will support teaching and learning, working with small groups and one to one as required. This is a challenging role but incredibly rewarding as part of a team which works together to make a real difference to the lives of our children with SEND. You will: have some knowledge about SEND be passionate about ensuring the highest quality learning for children with complex needs and severe learning difficulties provide a good role model for students and fellow colleagues be prepared to use a range of strategies to support a diverse range of complex needs have strong interpersonal skills and innovative techniques are essential support each pupil to access a broad, balanced and relevant curriculum differentiated to meet individual needs support tasks relating to ‘real life’ experiences be passionate about supporting learning characteristics in pupils be able to adhere to policies and procedures and follow GDPR guidelines be able to maintain confidentiality have a desire to participate in school and trust CPD opportunities have an awareness of Safeguarding have a willingness to contribute to the wider school through our curriculum enrichment and extended school offer.
