Essential Requirement: Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate

A welcoming and thriving mainstream secondary school in Blackburn is looking for a committed Food Technology Technician to join their team from Monday 13th April. This is a fantastic temp-to-perm opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, preparing resources, and helping create a safe and inspiring environment for students.
Key Responsibilities:
Supporting the Food Technology department with lesson preparation
Ensuring all equipment, ingredients, and resources are ready for practical sessions
Maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety in the food rooms
Managing stock, ordering supplies, and organising storage areas
Assisting students and teaching staff during practical lessons
Ensuring compliance with food hygiene and health & safety regulations
Requirements:
Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate – essential
Previous experience in a school or catering environment is beneficial
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work proactively in a fast-paced practical setting
Enthusiastic, reliable, and confident supporting students and staff

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
