Our client is looking for an Electrician to join their team in Worthing, to install solar panels on domestic social housing. The ideal Worthing-based Electrician would have experience working on Solar Panels and hold a valid JIB Electrician Gold Card.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Talk to clients and customers, carry out the work and put their needs first
2. Leave homes clean and safe and get tenant signatures when you've finished the job
3. Work closely with colleagues in your team and build relationships with the wider Liberty team
4. Drive and take good care of vehicles
5. Keep a record of your activities and deliveries
6. Experience in installing, testing, and commissioning domestic and/or commercial solar PV systems
7. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings
8. Competent with DC and AC circuits, inverters, isolators, and fault finding
9. Familiarity with remote monitoring systems, data loggers, and apps
10. Strong understanding of H&S protocols, risk assessments, and method statements (RAMS)
11. Compliance with UK building regulations and DNO (Distribution Network Operator) requirements
12. Report faulty appliances, installations or equipment which do not meet safety regulations
13. Operate machinery and equipment safely and correctly using any safety devices and practices
14. Handle transport materials safely
15. Look after tools, materials and equipment so they don't get lost or stolen
16. Report finds of asbestos through the Liberty's Asbestos Procedure
17. Work in different environments including in confined spaces or high up where you'll need to use ladders and scaffolding
18. Assess, plan and request the materials you need to carry out the job
19. Use measuring equipment to make calculations where you need to
20. Work from written and verbal instructions, including drawings, diagrams and sketches
21. Use the tablets will be provided making sure you capture all aspects of your work
22. Carry out all aspects of electrical works including;
23. Trace, diagnose and rectify faults
24. Carry out routine safety checks
25. Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
26. Carry out programmed installation works
27. Repair / replace electrical fittings
28. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
29. Reliable, punctual, and professional
30. Willingness to travel regionally (or nationally depending on the role)
31. Flexibility to work overtime or weekends when required
Qualifications, Experience and Attributes Required:
32. You have GCSE's or equivalent in Maths and English
33. You have served a recognised Electrical apprenticeship and/ or appropriate full electrical qualifications
34. City & Guilds 2391-52 (Inspection, Testing & Certification of Electrical Installations)
35. Must hold a 18th Edition I.EE
36. MCS Accreditation knowledge or experience (Microgeneration Certification Scheme)
37. PAS 2030 familiarity (for roles involving retrofit or funded work)
38. G98/G99 understanding (grid connection regulations)
39. Solar PV Qualifications, including one of the below:
40. City & Guilds 2399 - Solar Photovoltaic Installation (now discontinued but still recognised)
41. LCL Awards Level 3 Award in the Installation and Maintenance of Solar PV Systems
42. BPEC Solar PV Installer Course ECS Gold Card qualification
43. You are experienced and competent in all aspects of the Electrical discipline, and own a full set of appropriate tools
44. You have a sound geographical knowledge of the local areas (Desirable)
45. You have experience of working within a social housing environment and understand how the sector improves people's lives (Desirable)
46. Confident working in confided spaces
47. You have appropriate knowledge of Health and Safety Regulations
48. You understand what good customer care looks like, and aim to deliver the best customer experience every day
