School Caretaker - Full-Time | Immediate Start After Easter
Location: Hatfield, Hertfordshire
Salary: £26,000 - £31,200 per year / £100-£120 per day (PAYE + pension)
Start Date: 13th April 2026 or ASAP

We are urgently seeking a reliable and hands-on School Caretaker to join our small alternative provision school in Hatfield immediately after Easter. A paid one-week handover during the break will ensure you are fully prepared from day one.
This is a full-time role with flexible split shifts, offering a strong work-life balance while playing a vital role in keeping the school safe, secure, and well-maintained.
This position also offers a clear opportunity to become permanent in the next academic year for the right candidate.
Please note: A driver is essential due to split shifts and occasional travel to our St Albans site.
Key Responsibilities:
Opening and securing the site each morning (from 7:30am)
Locking up and securing the premises at the end of the day
Carrying out basic maintenance and minor repairs
Maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment
Monitoring site safety and reporting any concerns promptly
Supporting health and safety checks
Occasional travel to the St Albans site
About You:
Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy
Practical with good DIY and maintenance skills
Able to work independently and manage your workload
Friendly, professional, and a clear communicator
Flexible with working hours (split shifts required)
Full driving licence preferred
