Role Overview
The Finance Systems Administrator plays a key role in supporting the day‑to‑day operations of the firm’s finance systems. The role is responsible for enabling efficient integration between various systems, maintaining standing data, investigate and troubleshoot issues to support the business. This position requires a collaborative, proactive, and solutions‑focused approach, with flexibility to adapt to evolving priorities.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as an administrator, to manage, maintain and monitor our financial systems including Aderant Expert, Intapp, CapiTrak, Sharedo, Emburse Enterprise.
* Provide system configuration, user management and system reconciliations.
* Provide user support across departments including Finance, HR, BD, IT and our Fee Earners in the business.
* Identify and implement system enhancements, opportunities to streamline and improve, in collaboration with internal teams.
* Analyse workflows and develop efficient procedures.
* Assist with system upgrades, patches, and technical evaluations, including user acceptance testing (UAT) for upgrades, patches, and new implementations.
* Support finance and IT projects, including month/year‑end processing.
* Create and execute SQL scripts.
* Generate ad‑hoc reports and support data requests.
* Liaise with internal IT teams to resolve issues, acting as a link between finance and IT.
* Conduct quality assurance and document processes for audit and operational purposes, while supporting audits and ensuring compliance with internal controls and data regulations.
* Be able to provide training to the wider business on various systems.
* Support the team with your experience and knowledge.
* Be available for evenings and weekends as required.
Essential
* Previous experience supporting various financial systems, ideally within a legal or professional services environment.
* SQL skills with the ability to create and run queries independently.
* Excel knowledge, including, but not limited to, data extraction, power query and pivots.
* Good numerical skills and ability to understand systems and processes, troubleshoot problems and come up with solutions independently.
* Ability to manage time, priorities and work independently.
* High attention to detail and accuracy.
* Discretion, sensitivity, and confidentiality in handling data.
* A proactive, team‑oriented approach with a willingness to take on additional responsibilities.
Desirable
* Experience with Aderant Expert is highly desirable.
* Experience of data and system integrations.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
* Ability to prepare written documents, such as process / service documents.
* Knowledge of the operational factors which exist in a large law firm.
