Technical Designer (Metal Ceiling Systems)
Location: Faversham (Hybrid, with monthly travel to our Kent Head Office)
About the Role
Amron Architectural is looking for a Technical Designer to join our growing team, helping bring ambitious architectural concepts to life through practical, buildable design solutions.
This is an opportunity to work on a wide range of architectural products and systems, translating design intent into detailed technical drawings, component designs and coordinated solutions that can be manufactured and installed with confidence.
A key part of this role will be supporting the continued growth and development of our ceiling systems offering, contributing to both project delivery and the evolution of our product range.
You will play a key role in bridging the gap between design, manufacturing and installation; working on real projects, solving real problems and contributing to the development of innovative architectural systems.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Producing clear, accurate 2D and 3D CAD drawings for architectural systems and components
* Developing technical details, layouts and proposals from architectural briefs
* Translating concepts into practical, buildable and compliant solutions
* Supporting projects involving ceiling systems as well as wider architectural products
* Working closely with Sales, Projects and Manufacturing teams to support live projects
* Liaising with architects, designers and contractors to refine technical details
* Contributing to product development, system improvements and new ideas
* Supporting technical documentation, specifications and design guidance
What We’re Looking For
We’re less concerned with you being a specialist in one specific product area, and more interested in how you think and solve problems.
You might come from architectural design, product design, construction systems or a related field, but you’ll have:
* Experience producing technical drawings and design details
* Strong 3D modelling capability (essential)
* An understanding of how products or systems are manufactured, assembled and installed
* Experience working with components, assemblies or system-based designs
* Strong attention to detail and a practical, solutions-focused mindset
* Confidence communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
Software
* AutoCAD (essential)
* 3D modelling software such as Revit, Inventor, SolidWorks or similar (essential)
Desirable (but not essential)
* Experience with architectural metalwork, ceiling systems or interior systems
* Background in façade, fit-out, joinery or modular systems
* Product design or engineering-led design experience
