Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a research nurse to work at the Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
LUHFT has a proven track record in successfully recruiting into NIHR portfolio and commercial studies. They conduct a variety of projects, including observational and cohort studies, device and drug trials, as well as mixed methods and qualitative research.
Main duties of the job
The Research Nurse must be a strong advocate for research and patients, able to recruit and provide effective support to research participants.
The successful candidate must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and flexibly. They should be enthusiastic and capable of meeting recruitment targets within tight deadlines.

Job responsibilities
The research nurse will oversee daily research activities, including screening potential patients, recruiting into studies per protocols, assisting with informed consent, and managing study data.
All activities must comply with EU Directive, ICH/GCP standards, and Good Clinical Practice.

Qualifications
* RGN
* Current NMC registration
* Recent short courses or study days in research
* First-level degree or studying towards one
* Research qualifications
Experience
* Experience in patient education and counseling, e.g., lifestyle advice
* Clinical skills in venepuncture and IV cannulation
* Supervision of student nurses
* Experience coordinating clinical research studies
* Liaison with healthcare staff at all levels
* Experience in the research specialty
* Appraisal and interview skills
Knowledge
* Principles of clinical research and trials
* Role and responsibilities of a Clinical Research Nurse
* Ethical and quality standards for clinical trials, including EU Directive on ICH GCP
* Understanding of the NHS, R&D, pharmaceutical industry partnerships, and relevant information sciences
