About the Role
We are seeking a Pupil Place Planning and Capital Officer to join our School Organisation and Assets Team within Salford Children's Services. This role involves delivering quality educational places for children across the city.
Main Responsibilities
* Support the Capital Projects Manager by prioritising service needs through capital funding, including Basic Need, SEND capital, and Capital Maintenance, developing schemes within available budgets.
* Assist in delivering the Statutory Pupil Place Planning Programme for primary, secondary, and special schools, ensuring projects meet scope, quality, and timescale objectives.
* Create and manage a programme of projects and bids, overseeing day-to-day building projects against capital resources.
* Work with finance colleagues to monitor budgets and provide monthly reports.
* Commission projects to support educational and community needs.
* Manage the Annual Capital Maintenance Programme and collaborate with stakeholders, including schools and faith groups.
* Support schools in project delivery, ensuring compliance with government guidance and meeting pupils' needs.
* Analyze pupil place planning data, undertake national comparisons, and report outcomes.
* Act as a client within Children Services, developing projects from inception to delivery across the city.
