Role/Job Title - Infrastructure Backup & Storage Admin Work Location: Wokingham, UK (3days) The Role Problem Solving Organization & Planning Customer Focus Communication Team Working Methodical and positive approach to problem solving Ownership and accountability of technical problems to resolution Your Responsibilities (Up to 10, Avoid repetition) Excellent stakeholder management at all levels Ability to challenge senior stakeholders and say 'no' politely Leadership qualities: ability to mentor junior personnel and provide guidance on work packages Ability to work with little or no guidance Attention to detail in all aspects of the analysis and ability to draw conclusions quickly in a limited timeframe Ability to balance multiple tasks without a negative impact on quality Experience of working effectively both individually and as part of highly productive teams in an Infrastructure/Application ITIL-based support environment Appreciation of business-critical real-time systems Strong verbal and written skills Candidate must be able to pass National Grid's background vetting process Essential Skills / Knowledge / Experience (Up to 10, Avoid repetition) Veritas NetBackup installation, support, and management Implementation and management of HP Enterprise Storage (3Par), as well as management across Nimble and NetApp platforms Implementation and management of SAN fabrics, switches, and components Enterprise storage hardware and software fault resolution in HA critical estates Shell script writing RedHat Linux v6/7/8/9 experience Windows 2012/2016/2019/2022 experience Networking protocols and topologies Strong skills in verbal and written communication including the writing and reviewing of technical content Monitoring, backups, and Disaster Recovery Candidate must be able to achieve SC security vetting clearance Desirable Skills / Knowledge / Experience (As applicable) Monitoring, backups, and Disaster Recovery Proven customer-facing experience in an IT service role Proven methodical and positive approach to problem solving Experience of working effectively individually or as part of a highly motivated small to medium-sized team in an Infrastructure/Application ITIL-based support environment Experience of supporting business-critical real-time systems, ensuring high levels of availability through direct actions Demonstration of accountability to see issues through to successful resolutions Experience of working in 2nd line support; site attendance required Experience in technically training and mentoring colleagues A desire to expand knowledge into other domains and think outside of the box Candidate must be able to achieve SC security vetting clearance
