Job Summary
We are looking for an Occupational Therapist to join our in‑house clinical team at Heath Farm College and Medway Green School. Working collaboratively with the education team, you will deliver bespoke Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention to pupils who may have experienced developmental trauma, be neuro‑divergent or have SEMH needs. You will work within the standards provided in the OFG Occupational Therapy Ways of Working, guiding your practice within an education setting and clarifying your roles and responsibilities while taking into account the requirements of your governing and professional bodies. You will hold a caseload with support from a designated clinical supervisor and Lead Clinician, and contribute to staff training and consultation as required.
Responsibilities
* Deliver bespoke OT assessment and intervention to pupils with developmental trauma, neuro‑divergence or SEMH needs.
* Work within the OFG Occupational Therapy Ways of Working and clarify your roles and responsibilities.
* Hold an occupational therapy caseload with the support of a clinical supervisor and Lead Clinician.
* Contribute to staff training and consultation as required.
* Collaborate with education and multi‑professional teams.
Qualifications
* BSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapy.
* Valid HCPC registration.
* Registered member of RCOT.
* At least 2 years’ experience in a school setting or SEN provision.
* Experience providing OT services in a similar setting is preferable.
* Experience engaging people who are neuro‑divergent, have learning difficulties or SEMH issues, with evidence of transferable skills.
* Sound knowledge of OT theory and practical application to support independence.
* Experience of multi‑professional work with teams or services is preferred.
* Ability to work independently, flexibly and confidently in a school environment.
* Clear and concise report writing skills.
* Interest in sensory integration or sensory‑informed practice (training in progress or completed is preferable, but not essential).
