Are you an experienced and hands-on maintenance professional with strong organisational skills and a commitment to high standards? Newton Abbot Town Council is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Team Leader to lead a small team responsible for maintaining a diverse range of Council-owned assets across Newton Abbot.
Key Responsibilities include:
1. Planning and managing teamwork schedules and rotas
2. Carrying out and implementing risk assessments
3. Supervising day-to-day operations and maintenance tasks
4. Ensuring compliance with health & safety legislation
5. Coordinating with contractors
6. Supporting community events
7. Some evening, weekend and on-call duties will be required on a rota basis.
What we’re looking for:
8. Experience in facilities maintenance and team supervision
9. Strong understanding of H&S regulations (IOSH/NEBOSH desirable, but training provided)
10. Excellent planning, communication, and problem-solving skills
11. Practical and proactive approach to property and general maintenance
