A Fantastic Opportunity: Head of Electrical Infrastructure Projects
We’re looking for a dynamic, visionary leader to head our Electrical Infrastructure Projects business unit. This is a pivotal role within our Senior Leadership Team, responsible for delivering an annual turnover of ~£25m and driving growth to £5060m within three years.
You’ll collaborate closely with our Heads of Customer Solutions, Operations, Engineering & Design, and the wider ENWCML leadership team to shape and scale our high voltage engineering and construction delivery. You’ll also oversee contractor management and commercial services, ensuring efficient procurement and third-party resource utilisation.
Your team will include project and programme managers with support from commissioning engineers, planners, quantity surveyors, and other specialists. You’ll build and evolve your team to match our ambitious growth plans.
The role covers the North West, North East, Midlands, Southern and Central Scotland, and Walesso regular travel is part of the journey.
What We’re Looking For
We welcome applications from individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences who meet the following criteria:
* Degree or equivalent in Electrical/ Civil Engineering.
* Senior leadership experience in managing portfolios of electrical engineering projects, with individual values up to £10m.
* Experience of working in a commercial environment.
* Commercially aware, with experience of NEC and JCT forms of contract in both main and sub-contract forms.
* Previous experience in managing multiple electrical engineering projects up to 132kV, including associated civils activities.
* Leadership of a highly capable team of project managers and senior project managers.
* Assistance in the development of future bids and proposals.
* Management of external contractors and in house engineering resources.
* Proven P&L management experience with individual projects up to £10m and project portfolios of up to £50m+, including regular reporting to senior stakeholders.
* Strong stakeholder engagement and strategic relationship-building.
* Skilled conflict resolution experience.
* Excellent communication skills at all levels
* Detailed knowledge of Health and Safety and associated legislation, including CDM.
* Full UK Driving Licence
