Job Title: SEN Caseworker
Type: Locum
Duration: 3–6 months initially, likely extension
Hourly Rate: £250 - £300 p/day (Inside IR35)
Location: Berkshire
Spirehouse is recruiting an SEN Caseworker for a well-regarded Local Authority. This locum role involves supporting children and young people with the most complex SEND needs, coordinating multi-agency input, and ensuring statutory duties under the Children and Families Act 2014 are met.
Key Duties:
* Manage complex SEN casework and multi-agency coordination
* Chair the SEN Assessment Panel and ensure high-quality plans issued on time
* Represent the LA at SEN Tribunals and prepare Statements of Case
* Advise and negotiate with schools on SEN responsibilities and admissions
* Contribute to SEN policy, process improvement, and service development
Experience:
* Local Authority SEN casework experience – Essential
* Knowledge of Children and Families Act 2014 and SEN Code of Practice – Essential
* EHC Plan drafting and quality assurance – Essential
* SENDIST tribunal experience – Highly desirable
* Multi-agency partnership working – Essential
