The role
As an IT Project Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll be at the heart of delivering innovative technology solutions that support critical defence, aerospace, and engineering operations across the UK. Day-to-day, you’ll be required to:
* Lead the planning, execution and delivery of IT projects across all Babcock sectors
* Track key project milestones and adjust plans to meet evolving business needs
* Maintain full project documentation in line with Babcock’s IT Project Management Process
* Coordinate communication across stakeholders to manage scope, budget, risk, and resources
* Ensure through-life support is embedded in all new business system solutions
This role is full time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with flexible start and finish times between 07:30 and 18:00. Your contractual location will be the closest Babcock hub to your home and occasional travel to other sites, including overnight stays will be required.
Essential experience
* Proven experience managing software application projects using structured methodologies
* Strong understanding of the Applications Lifecycle Management (ALM) process
* Experience managing both in-house development teams and third-party suppliers
* Proficiency with Microsoft Project (Project Server preferred)
* Track record of delivering large-scale projects on time and within budget in complex environments
Qualifications
* Certified Scrum Master, Agile certified or equivalent
* Project Management certification such as PRINCE2, APM, or equivalent
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
