The post holder will be responsible for promoting and supporting the development of a strategic and integrated approach to embedding consideration of equality and rural needs into the culture, ethos and practice of the Northern Trust in line with regional legislation and policy including Section 75 of Northern Ireland Act 1998 and Rural Needs Act (Norther Ireland) 2016.
Responsibilities
* Promote, facilitate and support the strategic and operational development, delivery, management and monitoring of equality and rural needs assessments and practice across the Northern Trust.
* To assist the Head of Equality in promoting the fullest understanding of equality and rural needs issues to other Directorates and to deliver training/awareness sessions with senior staff as required.
* To analyse the training and development implications of Section 75, DDA and Rural Needs legislation and devise proposals and strategies to meet identified needs and priorities, taking account of resources in determining solutions.
* Facilitate the design, development, delivery, co-ordination and evaluation of education and training programmes to improve and enhance equality and rural needs practice.
Skills and Qualifications
* Hold a university degree or recognised professional qualification.
* And Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience at Band 6 or above or equivalent in a role delivering outcomes within a planning, health improvement, community development and/or service improvement role.
* And A minimum of one year’s experience at Band 6 or above delivering outcomes with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders including the voluntary and/or community sector.
