What you'll do: A Manufacturing Engineering Technician must have a good underpinning knowledge and be able to demonstrate a high level of competence in performing the manufacturing skills within the required discipline. The individual will be expected to: - Support New Product and Process Introductions - Lead the development of manufacturing documentation - Identify and lead manufacturing improvements such as implementing new technology, cost-out projects, yield improvements, scrap reduction and carrying out daily operational support activities - Teach, train and mentor others on all aspects of their chosen discipline - Develop implementation timelines for their projects - Knowledge and application of lean principles/tools and actively participate in Kaizen events is desirable This is an excellent opportunity for someone aspiring to further develop into a Manufacturing Engineering. Essential Functions: - Working under the guidance of the Manufacturing Engineering teams to actively support operations with the manufacture of product. - The ability to set & operate equipment with a high level of confidence. - Generate work instruction sheets and conduct any appropriate training. - Check accuracy of parts using appropriate measurement tools. - Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to rectify errors. - Obtain & maintain 'Approval status' for relevant equipment and processes. - Work on own initiative and resolve any issues or problems to company specific procedures. - The ability to develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods. - Ensure all training responsibilities are current, relevant and teams are trained and confident with deployment. Qualifications: Apprentice Qualified with ONC/ HNC preferred engineering qualification or equivalent Skills and Experience Required: - Proficient with Microsoft Office tools. - Confident and competent to work within a modern, fast paced operations to aerospace standards or similar. - Demonstrable knowledge of any of these disciplines: - Automation logic programming (e.g. PLCs), - CNC programming, - Conversant with Manufacturing Measurement Techniques - Manual machining of complex components, - Design and manufacture of jigs, fixturing and tooling - CMM programming - Minimum basic knowledge of geometric tolerancing - 3D modelling using Solidworks, or similar. - Automation using Cobotics. - Mastercam offline Programming an advantage - 3D Printing (Additive Manufacture).
