Defence College of Technical Training (DCTT) Mission : To train and educate aeronautical engineering (AE), electronic and mechanical engineering (EME), nuclear and marine engineering (MarE) and communications and information systems (CIS) personnel in order to meet the Defence requirement. Defence School of Air Engineering (DSAE) Vision : A transformed DSAE, as an engineering academy across defence and industry, of national renown and international acclaim, that is a more challenging and rewarding place to work and train. Post Holder’s (PH) Primary Roles TAS M02: As Module Responsible Examiner (MRE), is responsible to the Training Assurance & Standards Officer Commanding (TAS OC) for the design and maintenance of assessment banks for allocated air engineering Career Course module and Targeted Employment Module (TEM) assessments, producing core DSAT course documentation in compliance with the references. To analyse and evaluate all responsible summative assessment results and act upon findings to ensure their efficacy and consistency. To moderate fairly, summatively assessed work and where necessary reconcile discrepancies, and provide constructive feedback. Responding to assessment related concerns. Authority – TAS M02 is authorised to: Liaise directly with instructional and support staff within: RNAESS, Typed Air Stations, other RN, RAF and Army units as necessary to achieve key responsibilities and maintain currency. Liaise directly with civilian industry and authorities as necessary to achieve key responsibilities. Deputise for TAS OC as directed to represent TAS. Post Holder’s Specific Tasks / Responsibilities Ser No Tasks and Responsibilities Estimated Time on Task 1 Design and maintain unambiguous, relevant assessment banks to ensure achievement of the Formal Training Statement (FTS) for allocated Career Course modules and TEMs employing the principles of DSAT and quality standards laid down in JSP 822. 25% 2. Provide advice and guidance to Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) on course assessment matters including assessment amendment procedures. Vet the need for, and accuracy of, all amendment proposals against allocated Career Course modules and TEMs, determining the effect on other courses and modules. 20% 3. To act as a Module Responsible Examiner and focal point for nominated subject areas. 10% 4. Maintain a continuous overview of the assessment of all allocated modules of Career Courses and TEMs so that their content, documentation and assessment methods remain valid, current and continue to assess achievement of the Training Performance Standard. 10% 5. Prepare, compile, check mark (to minimum 20% level) and moderate all assessments for allocated modules of Career Courses and TEMs. 25% 6. Advise TAS OC on the progress of course design, course assessment and development related tasks, with specific reference to any potential problems with target dates, tasking priorities and workforce constraints. 5% 7. To carry out any other work associated tasks as directed by TAS OC. 3% 8 To carry out HMS Sultan military commitments iaw SULSO’s 2% Skills and Knowledge Profile Orders The Job Holder (JH) is to acquaint themselves and comply with all applicable Establishment Orders and the role specific policy directives and orders as listed below: JSP 822 – Defence Direction and Guidance for Training and Education. DSAE Management of Training System. Establishment Health and Safety and Environmental Protection Regulations and Procedures. Mandatory training on Equality & Diversity/Diversity and Inclusion and comply with the Commanding Officer’s Diversity and Inclusion Policy and Discrimination Law. TDSO Training Matrix. The post holder will familiarise their self and comply with their positions identifed training requirements as laid down in the TDSO(G) Training Matrix. Whilst all training requirements are to be achieved at the earliest opportunity, Mandatory Training is to be achieved within 3 months of completing the TDSO(G) Induction training course; if not achieved, this is to be reported to the LM and an action plan agreed. Continuing Professional Development (CPD). Whilst no specifics are identified, it is expected of the incumbent to participate/undertake CPD in whatever guise is approriate to keep informed of developments relevant to their role. Line Management (LM) Responsibilities: There are no LM responsibilities attached to this position. Reporting Chain : Date of PH next Servicepersons Joint Annual Report (SJAR): Functional Manager/ Line Manager TAS OC Divisional Officer TD AEO Countersigning Officer OC TDSO(G) Reporting Responsibilities Accountable to OC TDSO(G) through TAS OC Alternative Working Pattern (AWP). Flexible and Hybrid working arrangements are available for this post. Application and subsequent process management is conducted in accordance with MOD and RNAESS policies, decision based on a case-by-case basis. In general terms, under the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974, (the Act), you are responsible for taking reasonable care for the health, safety and welfare of yourself and others who may be affected by your acts or omissions. You are to comply with the requirements set out in the MOD Health and Safety Manual (JSP375) and all other applicable associated MOD published safety regulations, procedures and conditions. Employers / Line Managers Please note that under the Act, employers have a duty to look at the design and construction of their facilities and the conduct of their undertakings as a whole, to ensure that the safety of their employees and that of others associated with their undertakings and of the general public is not adversely affected by their activities (Sections 2, 3 and 4 of the Act). Most management grades down to junior level are accountable as managers and, therefore, some of the general duties of employers as laid down in Section 2 and 3 of the Act apply to them in relation to their staff and work activities. All Employees Note that they have a duty to take reasonable care to avoid injury to themselves and to others by their work activities, and to co-operate with employers and others in meeting their statutory requirements (Section 7 of the Act). Also they may not interfere with or misuse anything provided in compliance with the Act, to protect their health, safety or welfare (Section 8 of the Act). Environmental Protection. You are responsible for ensuring all personnel within their AOR are aware of their role in protecting the environment in accordance with the Environmental Protection Act 1990, the Environment Act 1995 and associated legislation. You should pay particular attention to any local environmental issues and ensure that line managers conduct a significant environmental aspect review annually in accordance with the instructions contained in JSP 418 and report the findings to the Station Environmental Protection Officer (SEPO). Business Continuity. As TAS M02, your (Resilience and) Business Continuity Plan is encompassed within “GenTQP06, TDSO(G) Resilience and Business Continuity Plan”, (R&BCP). You are to make yourself familiar with the underlying principles of Resilience and Business Continuity and your responsibilities in HMS SULTAN Command Business Continuity Plan and any relevant supporting plans. In particular, you are to be familiar with the immediate response actions you are to take on initiation of the Resilience and Business Continuity Plan whether during work hours or outside the normal working day. Memberships : None required. Secondary Purpose. Where no conflict with primary purpose exists TAS M02, will as required: Conduct 1st party audits within TDSO as directed by LM/QSC/OC TDSO(G) Assist the TD team as requested by TD OC
