We are seeking an experienced and visionary nurse leader to join us as the Assistant Director of Nursing for Acute Medicine Site and Flow at University Hospitals of Liverpool Group. The successful post holder will work alongside the Senior Nursing and Operational Team to provide professional leadership and expertise within the service, to lead, develop and transform the flow function across the site, while being the patient and family advocate, upholding professional standards and providing support, guidance and leadership across the whole site.

As the Assistant Director of Nursing for Acute Medicine, Site and Flow, you will be responsible for leading and managing the operational nursing function across the service, ensuring that the highest professional standards are maintained at all times. You will work closely with the Clinical, Operational, Nursing and Therapy leads, especially the discharge teams and will facilitate the efficient and effective management of patients and flow across the site.
Main duties of the job
The Assistant Director of Nursing will develop and maintain a comprehensive knowledge and analysis of health, service and policy guidance and developments, working with other members of the divisional, care group and the departmental senior management teams to translate national, regional and local drivers into action.
The successful post holder will provide professional nursing leadership and expertise within the service, acting as a role model for other nursing colleagues. The successful post holder will establish close working relationships with the other nursing and multi‑professional teams to ensure delivery of outcomes.
In addition, the post holder will develop and implement innovative and integrated approaches to nursing and service developments and processes, focused on patient need to improve the patient's journey.

Qualifications
* First level registered nurse, with current NMC registration or AHP with HCPC registration
* Degree level qualification or equivalent in relevant discipline
* Evidence of education to master’s level or equivalent experience
* Significant evidence of post‑registration continued professional development
* Post‑graduate/registration Management or Training qualification /equivalent
* Evidence of Leadership development
Experience
* Significant management and leadership experience to including experience of working at a senior level
* Demonstrable experience of leading clinical innovation or leading change within clinical practice
* Demonstrable experience in workforce planning, managing resources, budgetary and financial management
* Demonstrable experience in development of Nursing as a professional in their practice
* Evidence of relevant involvement in meeting the Trust Quality and Patient Safety objectives
* Evidence of making operational judgements involving highly complex facts/situations
* Demonstrate the ability to maintain high standards of care and team management over a sustained period.
* Evidence of networking, working effectively across organisational and professional boundaries

* Comprehensive knowledge of contemporary issues in Nursing/AHP and its implications for the workforce and future health care delivery
* Knowledge and understanding of governance arrangements and standards in the NHS and the wider health and social care economy
* Knowledge and understanding of the NHS policy and regulatory frameworks with Health & Social Care system. Demonstrating an ability to interpret
* Have a good awareness and of equality and diversity issues affecting a wide range of individuals and groups
* Knowledge and understanding of computerised financial, management, budgetary management, and workforce information systems
