Job Description: Payroll & HR Operations Leader
Are you a CIPP qualified Payroll leader with experience managing high-performing teams and leading transformational change?
How will you make an impact?
You will be responsible for all Payroll, HR Administration (including benefits administration), and HR Master Data activities, including governance and compliance, leadership, and day-to-day management of the UK Team.
You will ensure alignment and implementation of global and local standards and legislation relating to Payroll, HR, and HR Master Data Administration. You will be a member of the UK HR Operations Leadership Team.
What will the role look like?
1. Providing strategic and operational leadership for Payroll, HR Administration, and Master Data, delivering operational excellence across the employee lifecycle at Arla Foods UK.
2. Ensuring compliance with statutory legislation, regulations, internal control standards, and group policies.
3. Leading and developing the team, setting priorities, managing objectives and projects, coaching team members, and ensuring high-quality work within deadlines.
4. Collaborating with the Payroll process lead to identify and implement continuous improvements in systems and processes to enhance customer experience and operational efficiency.
5. Ensuring ongoing professional development for self and team regarding regulation or legislation changes impacting Payroll, HR Administration, Benefits, and Master Data.
6. Implementing improvements in workflows within your area of responsibility.
7. Providing expertise for complex queries and escalations.
8. Maintaining good relationships with stakeholders (HR Operations, HR Business Partners, Site Administrators) and third-party suppliers (e.g., Gavdi).
9. Keeping process documentation up to date and ensuring local processes are documented and maintained.
10. Developing and implementing the local payroll strategy aligned with global standards and local regulations.
What do you need to succeed?
* Excellent knowledge of UK payroll regulations, processing, employment tax, and global mobility.
* Strong understanding of UK Employment Law.
* Good knowledge of Master Data management.
* Experience delivering HR admin support and linking local admin services with global shared service centers.
