Role A Band 4 Assistant Practitioner to work within the AHP Medical Team at Glasgow Royal Infirmary. The AHP team provides assessment and treatment of adults with a wide range of medical conditions within the medical wards. The team has a skill mix of experienced Specialist Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapists, Rotational Staff, an Assistant Practitioner and HealthCare Support workers offering a broad range of competencies, knowledge and Clinical Experience. This position will include participation in a weekend rota as part of a wider team. A car driver is preferable but not essential.
Responsibilities The individual will be responsible for the independent management of their delegated caseload, from initial assessment to discharge. If patient needs become more complex, handover to the team’s Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists will occur. Make onward referrals to relevant community services at hospital discharge. Demonstrate good time management, confident clinical decision making, and an understanding of the roles of Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists. Training opportunities will be supported to carry out relevant competencies and to be involved in team service development projects. We are looking for someone who is highly motivated and enjoys being part of an enthusiastic and hardworking team.
