Job Summary
The Associate Pastor will play a vital role in supporting the spiritual growth and development of the congregation. This position involves engaging with church members through various ministries, leading worship services, and providing pastoral care. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and a passion for teaching, along with the ability to connect with diverse groups within the community.
Responsibilities
* Assist the Senior Pastor in planning and conducting worship services, including preaching and teaching.
* Engage with congregants through regular communication, fostering relationships that encourage spiritual growth.
* Lead Bible studies, workshops, and other educational programmes to enhance understanding of faith.
* Participate in community outreach initiatives to promote church involvement and service.
* Provide pastoral care through counselling, visitation, and support during life events such as weddings, funerals, and baptisms.
* Collaborate with church staff and volunteers to organise events and activities that strengthen community ties.
* Utilise public speaking skills to effectively communicate messages during services and community gatherings.
* Incorporate creative elements such as dancing into worship experiences when appropriate.
Qualifications
* A degree in Theology or a related field is preferred but not mandatory; relevant experience will be considered.
* Strong public speaking abilities with a passion for teaching and sharing the faith.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to engage effectively with diverse audiences.
* Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
* Experience in pastoral care or ministry is advantageous.
* A commitment to personal spiritual growth and an understanding of church dynamics.
