SEND Learning Support Assistant
Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? We are looking for a dedicated SEND Learning Support Assistant to join a supportive primary school community in Sunderland. In this role, you will provide personalized support to students, helping them engage with their learning and develop essential skills.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Support students with a range of SEND, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and other learning or physical disabilities
2. Provide 1:1 or small group assistance, adapting activities to meet individual needs
3. Assist with implementing EHCPs and working with the SEND team to achieve goals
4. Encourage social and emotional growth, fostering a positive learning environment
5. Work closely with teachers to ensure students receive tailored support in the classroom
Requirements:
6. Previous experience working with SEND children in an educational setting
7. Strong understanding of SEND needs and effective support strategies
8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
9. Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude
10. Team player with a commitment to student wellbeing and inclusion
