Job Description
The Lola Yamaha ABT Formula E Team competes in the FIA Formula E World Championship, combining Lola Cars' motorsport heritage, Yamaha’s technology, and ABT Sportsline’s racing expertise.
We are seeking a Junior Performance Engineer to support our performance team. This role is ideal for a motivated, analytical engineer eager to develop into a trackside performance role. You will work on simulation, Mission Control operations, and tool development, with a clear path to future trackside responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
* Support simulator sessions and live race operations (initially in Mission Control).
* Analyze simulation, simulator, and car data to provide performance insights.
* Assist senior engineers during races with real-time data analysis and feedback.
* Develop and maintain performance tools using Python, MATLAB, VBA, or similar.
* Present data-driven insights to the engineering team.
Candidate Profile
Required:
* At least 1 year of experience in motorsport performance engineering (e.g., F2, F3).
* Strong knowledge of vehicle dynamics and motorsport engineering principles.
* Analytical mindset and attention to detail.
* Proficiency with motorsport data tools, ideally ATLAS.
* Good communication and teamwork skills.
Nice to Have:
* Experience with simulation tools like Canopy.
* Programming skills in Python, MATLAB, or VBA.
Education & Background
* Degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Electrical, or Motorsport Engineering or related field.
* Proactive, curious, and initiative-driven.
* Strong desire to learn and advance to a senior engineering role.
