We are looking for a Project Lead Statistician to join our Early Development Statistics team, based in any of our offices in Brussels (Belgium), Monheim (Germany), Slough (UK), Raleigh, or Atlanta (US).
About the role
1. Provide strategic direction and ongoing leadership of the biometrics (statistics) team, which may focus on a Therapeutic Area, a Complex Compound with multiple indications, or serve as an expert in a specific area (e.g., safety, launch, pre-clinical).
2. Translate strategy into tactical planning, operations, and quality assurance, leading and influencing these processes.
3. Act as a key member of the Development Team for one or more compounds, collaborating closely with Development and Regulatory leads to guide overall strategy.

You will report to the Head of Early Development Statistics.
What you’ll do
1. Provide strategic direction and leadership for the biometrics team, focusing on specific therapeutic areas or expertise.
2. Translate strategic plans into operational plans, ensuring quality and timely delivery.
3. Collaborate with development teams and regulatory bodies to influence project strategies.
4. Ensure all biometrics team deliverables meet project requirements.
5. Foster a culture of continuous learning and skill development within the team.
6. Lead initiatives to transform the statistics operating model for efficiency and innovation.
Interested? For this position, you’ll need the following education, experience, and skills:
* PhD in Biostatistics or Statistics, or equivalent (preferred).
* Several years of management experience leading global teams.
* Strong knowledge of drug development across all phases.
* Knowledge of multiple therapeutic areas (preferred).
* Understanding of how functional expertise contributes to the bigger picture.
* Proven ability to influence and collaborate within asset development teams.
