Clinical Responsibilities
 * Deliver, with colleagues, a renal service in both in‑patient and out‑patient settings, and perform clinical procedures including kidney biopsy and tunnelled dialysis catheters across Berkshire.
 * Provide on‑call cover for renal and physician of the day rotas.
Management Responsibilities
 * Active participation in bi‑monthly clinical governance meetings within the department.
 * Participation and involvement in MDT and consultant meetings.
 * Participation in activities contributing to service improvement, clinical research and education is encouraged.
Essential Qualifications
 * Full registration with the GMC/eligible for registration within 6 months of CCST in (Speciality) at interview date.
 * Membership of the Royal College of Physicians of the United Kingdom or equivalent.
 * Fully trained in nephrology.
 * Previous responsibility for clinical governance and GMC Good Medical Practice.
 * All aspects of general medicine and patient care.
 * Ability to work within clinical governance guidelines.
 * Undertake audits and present data as required.
 * Good IT skills; use of patient and hospital database.
Desirable Qualifications
 * Higher degree e.g. PhD/MD submitted/awarded.
 * Evidence of clinical leadership role demonstrating accountability for quality of care, financial controls and efficient management of workforce.
 * Track record of publications in peer‑reviewed journals.
 * Evidence or providing good teaching and supervision to trainees.
 * Educational qualification contributing to improving patients' experience.
 * Ability to see patients as individuals, involve them in decisions about their care and demonstrate user involvement.
 * Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
