We are looking for a caring, patient, and reliable Personal Assistant (PA) to support our 13-year-old son, who has profound autism, severe learning disabilities, complex behaviours, Lennox-Gastaut syndrome, and a visual impairment.
He is a young, loving and mischievous boy with a big personality. He enjoys being outdoors, exploring the world around him, and taking part in sensory activities that make him smile and feel calm.

About the Role:
This is a rewarding opportunity to become part of our family’s support network and make a real difference to our son’s life. The role involves providing 1:1 support at home and in the community, helping him feel safe, understood, and able to enjoy the things he loves.
Duties will include:
- Providing close supervision and ensuring his safety at all times
- Supporting with personal care and feeding
- Helping us understand and respond to his needs (he is non-verbal)
- Supporting with epilepsy management (full training will be provided)
- Managing and responding to complex behaviour's using agreed, consistent approaches
- Supporting his emotional regulation and creating a calm, structured environment
- Helping with morning routines, including getting ready for school
- Supporting him to access the community and enjoy outdoor and sensory activities
- Following his routines and care plans to keep things consistent for him
About You:
- Kind, calm, patient, and understanding
- Experience with autism, complex needs, behavior's that challenge, visual impairment, or epilepsy is desirable
- Confident in managing behavior's in a safe and respectful way
- Willing to learn and work closely with us as parents
- Reliable, flexible, and committed
- Able to build a trusting relationship with our son and our family
Hours & Pay:
- 14 hours per week
- 2–3 mornings per week to support getting ready for school
- One afternoon/teatime per week
- Possible overtime available during weekends and school holidays
- Competitive rate of pay depending on experience
Additional Information:
- Full training and ongoing support will be provided
- An enhanced DBS check will be required
- References will be requested
