An established and growing independent Lloyd’s broker is seeking an experienced Account Handler / Technician to join its dynamic London Market team. The organisation prides itself on delivering a high-quality, client‑focused service across a mix of open market, binder, line slip and reinsurance business. Due to growth in the US Property team, a permanent job for a US Property Account Handler/ Technician handling open-market risks has arisen.
Your new role
As an Account Handler / Technician, you will play a key role in supporting Brokers across the division. This is a varied and technical role, requiring strong attention to detail, confidence with London Market processes, and the ability to work proactively in a fast‑paced environment. In this position, you will calculate premiums and process entries within the internal broking system. You will prepare accurate MRCs, MRCEs, cover notes, broker documents, debit and credit notes, and premium adjustments. You will also maintain thorough and accurate records, including work in progress, data logs and file notes. Your role will involve responding to technical queries and processing premiums and claims whenever required. You will liaise professionally with clients, insurers and third parties, ensuring that allmunication is handled promptly and effectively. You will manage diary tasks and workflow using Outlook and internal systems. You will ensure that all documentation is produced and issued withinpliance timeframes, taking responsibility for reducing late signings and managing closings to bureaux and non‑bureaux markets. You will work with London Market platforms such as Lloyd’s Atlas, DA SATS and PPL, and you will review and quality‑check slips and endorsements. In addition, you will stay up to date with FCA requirements and developments in London Market wordings.
What you'll need to succeed
You will bring previous experience in a London Market technical or account handling role, along with an understanding of mainly US Open Market Property risks, binders, open market business, line slips or reinsurance. You should have strong knowledge of London Market documentation and processes, excellent attention to detail, and strong organisational andmunication skills. Experience using systems such as PPL, DA SATS and Atlas would be beneficial.
