Requirements for the role of Remedial Plumber:
6. Minimum level 2 NVQ plumbing qualification or equivalent
7. Experience in demonstrating mechanical aptitude and technical ability
8. Ability to solve problems and/or offer solutions.
9. Experience in working unsupervised, leading a team & overcoming challenges to get the job done
10. The ability to discuss technical issues with confidence and accurately record detailed engineer’s reports and complete logbooks
11. Capable of physical work, lifting, carrying, and climbing
12. Full UK driving license
Duties and responsibilities:
13. Plumbing works including Dead end/leg removal, replacing ball valves, installing insect screens, tank vents, fitting lids, lagging, replacing TMV’s, TMV inspection & servicing, replacing taps, re-routing pipework, replacing water heaters, softener installation, equipment installation, tank replacements.
14. Temperature monitoring of tap outlets and tanks/cylinders
15. Cleaning and disinfection of shower heads & outlets
16. Visual inspections of water systems
17. Water sampling
18. Analysis of closed systems using a site test kit
19. Chemical dosing
20. Cooling tower cleans, disinfections and analysis
21. Water feature analysis, sampling and C&D’s
22. Descaling & internal inspections of calorifiers & water heaters
23. Cleaning & disinfections of pipework systems and cold water storage tanks in accordance with BS 8558:2011.
24. Mains injection disinfections
25. Softener servicing & disinfections
This is a permanent role.
