Contract Role: Solution Enterprise Architect (AWS) – Public Sector (Inside IR35)Hybrid (Occasional London) Up to £765 per day BPSS + SC submission required- 5 years residency in the UK minimum We’re looking for a Solution Enterprise Architect (AWS) to join a major public sector programme, providing architectural leadership and guiding the design of secure, scalable AWS solutions. This is a hands‑on design andernance role, ideal for someone confident engaging with stakeholders and shaping AWS architectures in a regulated environment.What you’ll be doing
1. Designing end‑to‑end AWS cloud solutions aligned to business, security, and operational needs.
2. Producing HLDs, LLDs, architecture diagrams, patterns, and standards.
3. Applying the AWS Well‑Architected Framework across security, reliability, performance, cost and ops.
4. Selecting appropriate AWS services and defining integration patterns acrosspute, storage, networking, data and applications.
5. Leading design workshops, discovery sessions and solution walkthroughs.
6. Translating business requirements into clear technical solutions and explaining architecture to non‑technical stakeholders.
7. Ensuring all designs meeternance,pliance, and regulatory standards.
8. Working closely with security teams on design reviews and risk assessments.
9. Supporting delivery teams with estimates, dependencies, risks and PoCs where needed.
10. Contributing to cloud standards, reusable patterns, IaC modules and ongoing improvements to tooling andernance.
11. Keeping on top of AWS updates and rmending enhancements to ensure scalability and maintainability.
What you’ll need
12. Extensive experience across software development, networks, or IT systems.
13. Strong background in engineering and software architecture.
14. AWS Solutions Architect Associate (required).
15. Solid knowledge of AWS services and architecture patterns.
16. Experience working with delivery teams, project methodologies and risk management.
Nice to have
17. Master’s degree or MBA in Information Systems.
18. AWS Solutions Architect Professional certification.
19. Understanding of database and data architecture principles.
20. Experience with SOA, RESTful services, microservices.
21. Exposure to Agile and DevOps environments.
